The wait is finally over: after eight long years of meticulous restoration and safety upgrades, Florence’s hidden gem, the Vasari Corridor, is reopening to the public.

This extraordinary passageway will once again invite you to step into the heart of Renaissance Florence. By joining this exclusive tour, you’ll be among the first in years to walk the 750-meter-long secret corridor, crafted by Giorgio Vasari in the 16th century. Cleverly designed to link Palazzo Vecchio with Palazzo Pitti, the corridor weaves its way through medieval tower houses, over churches, and across the iconic Ponte Vecchio.

Few people realize that access to the Vasari Corridor begins within the Uffizi Gallery. That’s why your private tour starts with an exploration of this world-famous museum, one of the most magnificent and historically significant art collections ever assembled. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, you’ll journey through the luminous halls of this cultural treasure, encountering masterpieces by legendary artists such as Giotto, Botticelli, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci. See masterpieces such as: The Birth of Venus and Primavera by Botticelli, Michelangelo's Tondo Doni, and Leonardo da Vinci's Annunciation. In just two hours, your guide will expertly lead you to the essence of this incredible museum, ensuring that you experience its wonders without feeling overwhelmed.

After a brief pause on the Uffizi terrace, where you can take in stunning views of Piazza della Signoria and Florence’s rooftops, the moment you’ve been waiting for arrives. The museum staff will open the doors to the Vasari Corridor, unveiling one of Florence’s most fascinating and secret spaces. Designed in 1565 by Vasari at the request of Cosimo I de’ Medici, this elevated passageway allowed the Medici family to travel between their residence at Palazzo Pitti and the government center at Palazzo Vecchio in complete safety, avoiding the busy streets below.

During your 30-minute walk through the corridor, the guide will highlight its most remarkable features and share insights into Vasari’s ingenious architectural solutions. You’ll enjoy exclusive views of Florence, including the Arno River and the Ponte Vecchio, and marvel at how Vasari incorporated existing structures, such as a medieval tower house, into his design. You’ll even pass through the Church of Santa Felicita, showcasing the corridor’s seamless integration into the city’s landscape.

The tour concludes in the serene Boboli Gardens, where you’ll exit near the Buontalenti Fountain, an exquisite example of Mannerist artistry blending sculpture, painting, and architecture. From here, your guide will lead you back along the exterior of the Vasari Corridor, allowing you to admire its architectural details and gain a new appreciation for its ingenious design.

This unique experience will leave you with unforgettable memories of Florence’s art, history, and beauty.
