Pompeii and Vesuvius full day tour with pizza lunch from Naples
Follow our archaeological guide for a pleasant stroll through the cobbled streets of Pompeii Ruins and discover all the secrets of Mount Vesuvius!
Pompeii and Vesuvius are two names which will be permanently entwined together throughout history: let's discover both sites in just one day!
Pompeii
became prosperous by taking advantage of the rich soil which was nourished by the volcanic ash
from Mount Vesuvius. Its inhabitants grew used to earth tremors as the volcano rumbled. They became too used to them in fact and were caught unawares in 79 AD when Vesuvius had a significant eruption and the town of Pompeii was, literally, suffocated in heat and ash, so that almost all the inhabitants died. The ash which had destroyed all life had preserved its remains in perfect condition
and the town of Pompeii essentially became a window on the past, giving unprecedented insights into life in a Roman town
as well as the sort of Latin spoken by ordinary people. A visit to Pompeii is an experience you will never forget, particularly since you will have the help of a guide
to explain the site to you and answer your questions. Once you have seen Pompeii, there will be a break for lunch in a local restaurant located in a panoramic place along the slopes: you will enjoy a fantastic pizza, one of the many symbols of Naples. After lunch, you will be taken to visit Pompeii's nemesis, Vesuvius. The route that will take you to the top of the volcano goes through a National Park
of unusual beauty. Pine forests
and lush woods, brooms by the bright yellow flowers and an uncanny volcanic landscape. A most spectacular drive with amazing views of the bay of Naples. After a drive of about half a mile, you will reach the top of the volcano
on foot.
